Casa Acuario Resort is located on Isla Carenero, directly across from Isla Colón; the location gives you the comfort of privacy with the convenience of being just on a 2 minutes boat ride from the town center. Casa Acuario or Aquarium House, gets its name from tropical fish swimming round in the clear tropical waters. Isla Carenero isn't all that pretty and the sand fleas can be ferocious. But this cute, two-story guesthouse built right over the water has a small sandy beach, enjoys views of neighbouring islands and is near Bocas town but not actually in it.
The hotel also provide group or private tours on the 40 feet "Morning Star": fishing trips, Island exploration, snorkeling, bay fishing and more.
There are four spacious rooms, two up and two down. All face the water and are furnished with hand-carved beds, orthopaedic mattresses, private hot water bath, ample closets, AC and cable TV. The furnishings include Indian bedspreads, sisal rugs, wall tapestries and oil paintings by the owner. The balconies (upstairs) and the porches (downstairs) have lounge chairs, tables and hammocks. There's a more economical 'surf shack' sleeping three against the shore.
